Still here!

Just adjusting to life as a mother of two!  And these particlular two certainly keep me busy, don't let this sleepy little face fool you!  I'll be back next week with details of Bea's rainbow themed birthday party!

A pink post

One of the best things about June is that I can have a lovely bunch of Peonies on the table.  Made me feel a little bit summery despite this ridiculous weather!

I made some more teeny baby shoes as a gift for another baby girl due soon.  I got the pattern here on Etsy and made them in a couple of hours - just the quick kind of knitting project I like!

Blooming

I've been waiting for this flower to blossom for about three weeks and it has finally popped open. I must say it looks a lot prettier now than when it was just a big green stalk sticking out of a pot. And it happens to go with our living room colour scheme perfectly.

I shall enjoy its short life!

Pink peonies

Peonies are one of my favourite flowers.  I made my wedding bouquet with pink peonies.

As its June I had to take advantage of the very short peony season and buy a bunch and they have made me very happy this week.

I can't decide if I like them best when they are new and form their tight buds....

Or when they have opened and look like fluffy pink pom poms.  I think they are fabulous either way!

Shabby Chic-tastic!

I got married in June to my husband Elliot and am still a bit obsessed with weddings.  I absolutely loved planning my wedding down to the last little detail.

We got married in an old tithe barn so wanted the whole look to be English country garden/shabby chic/vintage.  It was very much a DIY wedding and we made lots of things ourselves.  Here are some examples, click on the image for  a closer look:

Clockwise from top left
The kids party bags full of colouring books, sweets etc.
The favours were mini jars of jam with each guests name on a tiny label
I made metres of colourful bunting to decorate the barn
We collected cakestands for our table centres which were decorated with rose heads and yummy rose water cupcakes
I did all the flowers myself like this big wall basket arrangement
It rained all day but this is one of my favourite photos
We had a pinata to entertain the kids although it was bashed by a few adults as well!
My aunt made our cake which was decorated with some vintage ribbon I found
We made all the bridesmaid dresses and my wedding dress and veil
