Erotic Teaching

When I saw the subject of the article I was asked to illustrate by the Guardian last week I was quite disturbed!  However, after reading through the copy it turned out to be a lot less sinister thank goodness!  It was actually about the tender, protective feelings of a teacher towards her pupils as she watches them go through changes they don't even understand themselves.  It was quite a demanding concept but I was pleased with the resulting image.

Shabby Chic-tastic!

I got married in June to my husband Elliot and am still a bit obsessed with weddings.  I absolutely loved planning my wedding down to the last little detail.

We got married in an old tithe barn so wanted the whole look to be English country garden/shabby chic/vintage.  It was very much a DIY wedding and we made lots of things ourselves.  Here are some examples, click on the image for  a closer look:

Clockwise from top left
The kids party bags full of colouring books, sweets etc.
The favours were mini jars of jam with each guests name on a tiny label
I made metres of colourful bunting to decorate the barn
We collected cakestands for our table centres which were decorated with rose heads and yummy rose water cupcakes
I did all the flowers myself like this big wall basket arrangement
It rained all day but this is one of my favourite photos
We had a pinata to entertain the kids although it was bashed by a few adults as well!
My aunt made our cake which was decorated with some vintage ribbon I found
We made all the bridesmaid dresses and my wedding dress and veil

My first post!

So I have finally decided to start a blog as I am an avid reader of other peoples!  This blog is mostly going to be about illustration, design and craft as well as general style related stuff that I like.

A bit of background:  I am a freelance illustrator living in London with my husband Elliot.  My main love is illustration but I am starting to develop a passion for crafty stuff like sewing and have just learnt to knit two weeks ago, the products of which I will show you soon!
